I’m a trainee journalist and content creator focused on local stories, digital storytelling, and audience-first reporting. I have had 4 main roles that shaped the journalist I am today.
The Journalism Diaries
The Journalism Diaries is a passion project I started alongside my university degree to document the highs and lows of getting into the media industry. I’ve met many of amazing people along the way, reached 1 million views on a video of mine that went viral. I’ve worked with big brands like Tesco and even got my own segment on the BBC One Show talking about getting into content creation filming with Tiktok sensation Charley Marlowe and TV Presenter Jeff Brazier
AJP Social Studio
AJP Social Studio was a social media internship I started in my second year of university. I helped filming client reels/content, scheduling and creating monthly content and using platforms like Caput, Canva and Meta Business Suite. I went from an intern to a full time social media assistant – becoming a valued member of the team and made a name for myself in the business world. I discovered my love for digital journalism and editing – something I wish to take into my future career.
Coastal Radio
Coastal Radio was my first ever placement for university. Across 18 months, I learnt valuable skills in broadcast radio, content creation and article writing. Learning software like Myriad and going onto presenting local shows like What’s on Weekly before submitting a demo and gaining my own Late Nights with Tegan weekly Monday night show. Also attending events like the Local Business Awards and Lytham Festival allowed me to do more presenting and content creator roles – taking over social medias like Instagram and Facebook.
John Schofield Trust
The John Schofield trust was an amazing thing to be apart of. I was mentored by the BBC’s very own Lucy Woodham who taught me valuable skills in journalism. I got to attend an in person networking event at the BBC Studios in London – somewhere I got to be for the first time. I also got some professional headshots taken.
